of the Americas, Our Lady of
America is the Patroness of the United States of America.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in the United States
and revealed her title as “Our Lady of America, The Immaculate Virgin.”
She also said, “I am the Immaculate One, Patroness of your land.” She
appeared to Sister Mildred Neuzil in several apparitions in the United
States during the latter half of the 20th century. She said, “I desire
that my children honor me, especially by the purity of their lives.”
Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, of Saint Louis, a noted
canon lawyer, stated that the devotion to Our Lady of America was
canonically approved. In a letter dated May 31, 2007, he reviewed the
prior history and then state of the devotion, as well as the earlier
actions of Archbishop Leibold who originally approved the devotion.
Archbishop Burke wrote, “What can be concluded canonically is that the
devotion was both approved by Archbishop Leibold and, what is more, was
actively promoted by him. In addition, over the years, other Bishops have
approved the devotion and have participated in public devotion to the
Mother of God, under the title of Our Lady of America.”
The Visitations are for the mission of praying for
purity, peace (her hopes) and protection (her promise) through her
intercession. We will train parish Visitation Teams to prepare and
co-ordinate the Visitations in cooperation with their pastors. These
Visitations are essential for these times of war, terror, family breakdown
sexual promiscuity and abortion, in what Pope John Paul II called a
Culture of Death.
The Visitations will consist of Holy Hours of Prayer
for Purity, Peace and Protection from a booklet and display and veneration
of a 2’x 3’ framed canvas photographic image of the new statue of Our Lady
of America that was blessed by Archbishop Burke. The booklet will contain
scriptures and prayers for Our Lady of America’s intentions, meditations
with her on the Glorious mysteries of the Rosary and a talk, contained in
the booklet, on her mission and messages.
Religious goods will be available and the Visitations
may include works of mercy such as visits to hospitals, nursing homes,
prisons and schools.
